In Ethiopia i began to use more natural colors and materials. In this time i have began to think about what i want my collection to become and where i want it to be going. I have decided that i want to use more naturally found items and materials out in the forest to make products that are both natural and artistic. I&#8217;m finding myself really loving the evolution of going from a want to be photographer to switching art tracks to handcrafts and finding the line of craftiness and art. I&#8217;m now wanting to make Handmade art and do something i love. During my time in Ethiopia i fell in love with 14 girls and showed them how to make Journals and decided that hand sewing is great but not always effective. In this time i decided that it would be great to buy a sewing machine for the girls. Which in Ethiopia is 2000 bir (100 Euro) for a hand-cranked sewing machine. So while I&#8217;m at home and back in Germany eventually i will be buying the girls a sewing machine so that when i go back to Ethiopia or teams go back i can send them one&#8230;. its been a great to just work on amazing art and spend time just making things. In the first weeks fellow student Louise got a word from God in Psalm 1:2-3&#160;<span><span>“whose delight is in the law of the LORD,</span></span><span><span> </span></span><span><span>and who meditates on his law day and night.</span></span><span><span> </span></span><span><span>That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,</span></span><span><span> </span></span><span><span>which yields its fruit in season</span></span><span><span> </span></span><span>and<span> whose leaf does not wither whatever they do prospers.” In this time God revealed how he wanted me to make a collection based on these 2 scriptures and how they would be used for healing. In the beginning I started off making Jewellery and then we learnt how to bind books. This brought inspiration to a collection of journals. I started off by making a collection of 4 journals which each had a color scheme and a theme of found leaves in the forest outside of our castle. I than pressed and sewed them into the pages and they became the highlight of the journals. I than went on mini outreach and came back with a new idea to make outreach bags. Each bag than became a personal project as each student I designed and made was a reflection of how each individual personality.<span>  </span>These became a huge hit and I was working day and night to accomplish fourteen bags in a matter of one month. I have continued to work on these and they are becoming a huge part of my collection. Over the two months during outreach I continued to make jewellery. I also made a series of 3 journals from the cities that we were working with. I than got a fellow artist to create a page based on their time in that city.<span>  </span>Over the time I have been in Germany and Ethiopia God has been continuing to show me how to use nature and tress to do my handmade art.
